Almost no Beach….
July 21, 2008
Saturday Phillip and I headed down to the beach. We were so pumped and excited and just couldn’t wait to get there. We are going down with some great friends of ours, Clint and Becca, and sharing a place with them. We left right after I got off work around 1:00 and were beach bound until we had a wreck. I mean to tell you I was so scared I didn’t know whether or not we were going to be able to continue on. It turned out not being too bad so that we were finally able to get back on the road to the beach. We were pulling out of a gas station and into the turn lane and we didn’t see the car and hit it on the side. Luckily we were not and she was not hurt just shaken up. Our front bumper was torn off but we were able to get that under control so we could continue on. I was super upset when it happened and then I really thought about how fortunate we were that it wasn’t any worse and that no one was hurt. So needless to say we finally arived to the beach around 7:30pm, much later that anticipated, but we made it safe and sound and that’s all that counts. Anyways, Clint and Becca will be doing the driving while at the beach since our car just looks retarded with all these bungee straps and zip ties holding what is left of the bumper down. Things are good though and we are having a blast so far. Lets hope for no more accidents for the rest of the week!
Here is a picture of the car and what is left of the bumper. Man thats sad!!

Oh My Gosh Jennifer! My friend and I were heading home from the beach this past Sat. and we had stopped at the gas station where you had the wreck….we probably were inside at the same time, as it seem to take forever in the bathroom and getting something to eat. When we were leaving I saw the wrecked cars and we turned right, went up a ways and turned around to come back down to get back on 74. When we came back by, I saw “a guy” kneeling in front of the car looking at the damage and I told my friend, as we were exiting onto hwy 74, that those people looked like my friends the Baucom’s….we got down on hwy 74 and I looked for another exit to come back…tried but could not find a way to get back to see if it was you. I did say a prayer that “whomever” it was to let things be ok. When I read your blog, I had chills when I realized that it was you!! I am so glad to hear that you both are ok. That was a hard place to pull out from! I hope you enjoyed your beach trip as much as possible! ~Starla

I hope your beach trip turned out good for you guys!! I just wish I could have gotten back to you to help out….but since I couldn’t, I knew prayer was the best thing!! Miss you guys!! Take care!
